My specs :

i7-12700k

Galax 3080ti

Some asus z690 motherboard

32gb of DDR4 3600(tuned down to 3200 stability issue)

750w power supply

i upgraded my main rig from 3060 to a used 3080ti. It only happened twice before I had to undervolt the gpu and happened one more times after the undervolt. Im not sure if the power supply can’t handle the wattage or something’s wrong with the gpu? Any help would be massively appreciated!!

Undervolting too much can cause your PC to crash. If you are undervolting to save power, because you think you may be pushing the PSU (I mean, maybe you are with a 12700K), then you should try power limiting your 3080 Ti instead.

I did run a 3090 ROG STRIX with a Corsair HX750 watt PSU for a long time but that was also with a 8700K... Using a 12700K maybe be pushing it. Not sure.

What kind of 750w PSU you are using? Crappy one can only do 600 or worse and wont able to power the 3080

I just checked again (it's an old build : 4 years) It was Micronics Classic II 850w power supply. I was worried I was pushing too much on the power supply, but now I realized it's 850 watts and it should be able to handle 12700k and 3080 ti. Now I'm not sure what is wrong with it

sidenote: the crashes happened like a week ago and I went to check the event viewer: couldn't find anything that matches the crash. It just freezes when it does crash and power off after 10 to 20 sec
