rtx 4070

With all the new launches happening i was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to the 4070. At my local walmart they still have 3 pny 4070s for 500 and wondering if that is worth it to buy or i was eyeing the rx 9070xt hopingthey might have some in stock at my local best buy. I currently have a 2080 but am looking to upgrade since i  would like to go from 1080p 240hz to 1440p 165hz.

Hey, welcome to the LTT Forums.

 

The 4070 Super is a decent card and a worthy upgrade over the RTX 2080.

Just because Radeon 9070 and RTX 5000 series is out doesn't make the 4070 Super worse, it performs just like a 4070 Super would  

That being said, I would definitely wait and see the availability for the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT and its performance review by LTT and Hardware Unboxed.

Reviews should go live on the 5th and the card should be available for purchase on the 6th of March.

 

Going from 1080p to 1440p is a massive improvement in clarity!

What particular 1440p monitor are you looking at?  I would recommend getting one with Freesync if you are going with the 9070 / 9070 XT.

Fair enough.  I would then definitely wait for the Radeon RX 9070 / 9070 XT. 3 more days and we know the performance  

Decent monitor. I personally do not like VA at all and prefer IPS for gaming.

They have come down quite a lot in price but they are still quite expensive compared to more budget options, thats for sure.

If you can get a 4070s in stock at $500 then jump all over it.
