yeaa only valve gives the same taste or specific niches. after gta gaming seems pointless . gta made me an old man..

Well, maybe the upcoming next gen update for GTA 5 and GTA Online can revive your want to game it again? Ray tracing, DLSS, aminals in freeroam (GTA O), many other feature updates.

but i like the single player. i didnt like online when i tried it but maybe should give it another shot. still i dont like the grind though. i like the story with good gameplay

I 100% get you... The grind was f'ed up after modders messed up the economy. Modders was actually the reason why I left GTAO; was my main game for a few years. GTAO was the shit years ago, before modding really became a thing. Sure, there were a grind but nothing like you see today. It was so good. Miss it.

Saints Row 3 & 4. I would also recommend SR2...if it actually ran properly on PC, it's one of the worst PC ports ever, worse than GTA 4 even.

 

There's also Cyberpunk 2077, it's basically a futuristic RPG-ified GTA. No hijackable tanks or aircraft though...

but gta is so much better than cyberpunk. I like the theme of gta but more than that i like the quality of rockstar.

- Mafia. (Another one that routinely is very cheap on sale) (Oops @xAcid9 beat me to this suggestion)

- Yakuza is a great series. Yakuza 0 is cheap on sale.

 

Definitely play the Saints Row games as others have mentioned, these are great.

Open world- (ish) driving shooting blowing stuff up with a story and side missions?  Rage 1 and 2, the graphics still hold water 12 or 13 years later with Rage 1.  Rage it's sorta cyber-steam punk  old west type scenario post global apocalypse with mutants and scavengers.

Mafia 1 and 2 are good games but they are very different from GTA in the sense that Mafia 1 and 2 are basically linear narratively-driven games with no meaningful side content. They happen to take place in an open world but there is not much to actually do in that world outside of the main missions other than police chases.
