Yea currently waiting for my parents to tell me the cameras that are already there, for the PC, I don't currently have one.

For the prebuilt I mentioned here are the specs:

Model: EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF

Processor: Intel Core i5-9600 3.1Ghz

Memory: 8GB DDR4 RAM (8GB x1)

Storage: 256GB NVMe SSD

I'll add more storage to it myself later.

That will be more than enough. Assuming the cameras isn't some ridiculously high resolution ones (which it probably isn't)

Hi everyone,

I am planning to help my parents set up a CCTV network for their small store, they already have pre-installed CCTV from the previous store owner.

I would like to know what kind of hardware I need to process the CCTV and record and keep footage, can I use any old PC or do I need those server-grade CPU.

There are like 6 CCTV pre-installed, right now I am trying to figure out from my parents whether they are POE cams or not as I am away.

I am planning to use Blue Iris, so hope you guys can guide me and recommend hardware that can be used.

You don't need server grade hardware to run blueiris. In fact, mine runs on an Ryzen5 3400G. Although, I would recommend you use an Intel cpu with Integrated graphics as that reduces cpu load by a lot.

What are the cameras you already have? They need to be network ip cameras and be able to provide a live feed. If you already have a pc you would like to use please post the specs along with the cameras you'll be using, so I can tell you if it is good enough or not.

Will using a prebuilt like Hp Elitedesk 800 G5 be sufficient?

Most likely yes. If you can post the specs I'll be able to tell for sure.

Are you building new or used? The main requirement for optimal performance with blueiris is an Intel cpu with Integrated Graphics.

I'd recommend at least intel 8/9th gen due to power consumption as this thing will probably be on 24/7
