question rx 7900xtx question

I am planing to buy the rx 7900xtx but my psu does not have 3 separate pcie slots so i wanted to do 2 x 8 pin and 1 x pigtailed and i just want to make sure that nothing bad will happen to it the psu is the pure power 12m 1000w

Hello! Welcome to the Forum.

The Pure Power 12M is a great PSU and using the pigtail cables on this PSU is completely safe  

 

Connect them like in this picture here.

The extra 8pin cable from one of the pigtails can be ziptied down the main cable for a cleaner look, this is also safe.

I'm also using a pigtail on my 7900XTX, I do have 3 x 8 pins but it looks like sh#t with those pigtails, I do have cable extensions but then it's a huge serpent nest in the bottom of the case, so finally I use 1 extension and another cable with pigtail, as @Hinjima suggests

I'm sometimes running up to +10% PL and the thing eats like 450W in total TBP, and I never had any issue in more than 1 year (on a RM850x), so I think it's safe

PCie 8pin has like 250% overspec tolerance according to DerBauer, that's up to near 400W /30+ amps on 1 cable, so I think it's pretty safe
