Question about switching ssds

Hello I had a question with swapping ssds from an old build to a new build. I was wondering if I can reset the ssd in my old build via windows keep the copy of windows on there and switch the ssd to a new build. Would that work or cause any issues?

Windows is pretty good with adapting but I always recommend a fresh windows install if major hardware has been changed like a new motherboard socket / CPU architecture.

I’m using am4 on both builds all that’s different is the motherboard, and cpu everything else is the same

Sure, give it a shot  

If you run into any stability issues or glitches then reinstall windows.

No Problem!  

Remember to download the new chipset drivers for the new motherboard.
