Hey! I’ve recently bought an older hp prebuilt, i bought it for a friend and planned on switching gpu and cpu from a ryzen 5 1400 to a ryzen 5 3600x but this doesnt seem to be possible due to hp not having updated their bios for this motherboard since 2018. Im wondering if its possible to do a third party bios update which will give me the possibility to upgrade to ryzen 3000 series. and if, how?
it is the hp pavilion power desktop - 580-101no

bios version f23 rev.a

Its got the hp 8399 ssid motherboard

HP use there own proprietary motherboards that are notorious for firmware locks to only support certain items on there boards. Unlikely you will find a 3rd party BIOS for it that would be trustworthy.

BIOS mods are the last thing you want to do. Regular BIOS updates generally can be performed via external media like USB sticks from the BIOS itself.
