Hi everyone. After rebuilding my PC I constantly get a red CPU led on my motherboard. Tried - BIOS update, CMOS battery removal, ram sticks, basicly everything on the 1st page of troubleshoot, even trying different CPU's. Current R5 2600, tried a R5 5600X, R3 1600X - to no avail. Looking at the CPU it seems in ok condition, cause it has no bent pins on it, BUT for the motherboard its a different story.  i may have effed it up. BELOW PICTURES! 1 thing to add - didn't try this before BUT, I put the CPU in without the cooler, to see even if its getting warmer. So I short the FP connectors, it lights up the board + the CPU LED (same as before), but now I pressed on the CPU, it instantly shutdown. When I let go of the CPU, it booted once again, as If the CPU was shorting something out??? May that be the problem?

The retention bracket has been removed ? The CPU may be uneven or crooked then. When you lower the lever of the retention bracket, the socket catches the CPU pins and keeps them secured.

When using the CPU without a cooler and without the bracket, you can have so many bad contacts that it is impossible to get a reliable working position. You really need that bracket back,

There is no way to know if the socket is perfectly fine without the retention bracket. Be patient ?
