Hey everyone, just wanted to ask something related to DDU messing with my PC.

BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO

Context:

I upgraded to a 4070 and it was all good. Then a friend suggested "Why not use DDU and just do a fresh install of drivers?" I was like why not. I first thought it somehow broke the GPU itself or the display drivers, then I restart and I get a few brief moments of display and restore point makes it more "stable" but still lose display as Windows restarts itself it seems. I just want to confirm if I irreversibly bricked something hardware wise or just a simple fresh Windows install will fix this?

Thanks for any info about this

just to add on, I tried "Reset this pc" and used cloud, and it's still losing display or crashing, whichever one actually happens, and I'm gonna assume same thing will happen if I reinstall windows the normal way?

Can you access Windows device manager to help confirm what drivers (date/version) are associated with the video card and if they appear to be correct? Could be Windows is assigning different drivers and if you specify manually you might be able to get things to behave.

Hey there, I'm the developer of DDU and confirm that DDU can't break hardware like that,  it's something else.

You should try to reseat the GPU/memory , remove all overclocking,  reset bios to default.

The worse thing that could happen with DDU is a broken windows installation.
