Budget (USD): $500

Country: U.S.

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft with shaders and Fortnite

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rcWN6Q

I had a post on the PCPP forum and was recommended a build along the lines of the PCPP list above. I was just hoping to get a second opinion on it. I have peripherals and a Windows 11 pro license

Please don't pick an Apevia power supply, unless you like house fires.

List is decent.

New PSU.

Be aware that you might need a previous generation CPU to update the BIOS on a B450 motherboard for the Ryzen 5500 to work.

Built something very similar for my young cousin several months ago, I got the GPU used off of ebay (1060 6GB for $50). Get used parts if it is going to be replaced inthe future (i.e. if you cant fit a good gpu into the budget currently). Parts list looks good.

Ubuntu 24.04 on Ryzen 5 5600x and GTX 1070

Mint 22 on Razer Blade i7-11800h and RTX 3070
