MS116 zeromouse

Go to solution Solved by ulookuglynoob,

Nvm, I found 70 bucks laying around and will get a razer viper v2 pro and a zeromouse for it.

Hello. I want to get a Zeromouse, but I have no money since I spent all of it on my Superglide mousepad. I have an MS116 lying around, and my plan is to 3d print a fake knockoff Zeromouse body and then somehow fit the internals of the MS116 into it by sanding and hot gluing the PCB inside. Some questions I have are: Is the sensor on the MS116 decent or terrible for gaming? (It doesn't have to be extremely good, this is just an experiment). Also, I have 3 3D print files, so which one should I choose? What 3D printing material should I use? And will hot glue damage the PCB? Thanks for the advice, and don't tell me my idea is stupid because I already know 😂. I have obsidian dot skates on the way, which I will use on the mouse.

Wow, looks like an interesting project.  A new shell will not make the MS116 a gaming mouse, it'll just look different and probably work worse.  Either of those prints should work but will likely need to be modified to fit the PCB in your Dell mouse.  Measure twice, print once.  Hot glue should be just fine on a PCB.  I prefer to use low temp hot glue, it works great.

I know. How bad are the sensors?

I also have an attack shark x3, but I do not want to use it because it is my main mouse and I do not want to break/destroy it.

Yeah, don't destroy your daily driver.  The MS116 is an office mouse.  It's used for office things.  It has a fixed 1000 dpi sensor and will mouse like a mouse should mouse.  They are completely unremarkable in every way.  You already have it in hand, plug it in as is and see how it performs in the games you play.

Should I use a Razer Orochi v2 instead and put the internals in this design?
