Or should I install only the blank 500GB SSD first, set up Windows, and then open up my computer to install the other two drives?

This. Make sure the only software installed on the other two drives is the kind wher you can specify to look for an existing install.

Hello,

I currently have 3 storage devices: a 500GB SSD (boot drive), 2TB SSD and 1TB HDD.

I am planning on building a new computer and I would like to reuse my current storage devices - I understand that it is best to have a completely wiped boot drive and complete a fresh windows install.

Therefore, I am going to wipe my current 500GB drive and reuse it for my new build, and install windows on that - however I am wondering if there are any precautions I must take with the other 2 drives (2TB SSD and 1TB HDD) that I must take before using them. Like, can I install my blank 500GB SSD, 2TB SSD and 1TB HDD all at the same time and install windows on the 500GB SSD without issues? Or should I install only the blank 500GB SSD first, set up Windows, and then open up my computer to install the other two drives?

Thank you to those who read and reply to this.

Install Windows with only one drive plugged in. Otherwise it might install the boot loader on the 2nd or 3rd drive.

@LloydLynx
So would I be fine installing the other two drives as is, without doing anything to them or wiping them? And all the data will be accessible without issues..?

I've gotten to know some stuff, but am far from omniscient, so don't take my advice as gospel and wait for other opinions - I just like throwing in my two cents when I can.
