And get one of these bundles from MC...

Main list of bundles:

https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/bundle-and-save.aspx

9700X bundle $429...

https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006970/amd-ryzen-7-9700x,-gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-v2,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle

7600X3D bundle $399...

Note:  The 9700X is arguably a better CPU than the 7600X3D for more than gaming.

Okay, thank you! Is there any chance anything on the list will be a bit cheaper closer to Black Friday? Just curious ^^

Also, is there any bundle worth getting more than the other given what I want to achieve? The games I currently have right now probably don’t require much to run, and I probably won’t invest much time and money into bigger games such as MMORPGS for a while since I’ll still be busy with my studies.

Budget (including currency): max $1800 (usd)

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Currently just wanting to run small steam games along with heavily modded minecraft, will upgrade later to play bigger games such as Elden Ring, Final Fantasy, Assassins Creed, etc. May also use it to do work for college classes but it’s primary use is to run games.

Other details: I’m wanting to build one entirely from scratch and I have no prior experience or knowledge in this field. I never had the budget or time to until now. I figured some parts may be cheaper once Black Friday rolls around, and I want to get started on it now. I have a laptop that I run some games on, but I want to give it to my boyfriend for when he starts college next year because he currently doesn’t have anything to do work with during class and outside of his room. I’ll need everything from the pc parts to a monitor, down to keyboard and mouse recommendations. I realize that this is a big question to ask, but I’m grateful for any help that I can get. I’ll consider any lists and read through any and all explanations regarding parts and their uses.

Hello and welcome to the Forum!

Us here on the forum can definitely put together a good machine for around 1600-1800 including peripherals.

I am unfortunately busy right now but others will definitely chime in!

I will check back later!

That's what we, and this subforum are here for.  All good.

First, do you have a Microcenter near?

For keyboard and mice... they are incredibly subjective.  I would advocate either free or stupid cheap at first, as you go out and get a feel for what you like in a keyboard or mouse.  I've been thru over $500 in keyboards until I found one I enjoy typing on, for example.

For the rest, it depends on the Microcenter question, but your budget allows 1440p gaming.  How large of a monitor do you want, or have room for?  24 inch?  32inch?  Ultrawide?

Example of a baseline build for 1440p gaming, as you can see you don't need to use your entire budget...

The nearest Microcenter is in Dallas, which is a 5 hour drive away from where I live. By coincidence, my family and I will probably be in Dallas next Thursday-Saturday for Thanksgiving break. But we don’t end up going, where would I go from there?

I’ll be moving into an apartment next year for college and will have my own room and desk, so a 24” or 27” monitor will probably be best.

If no MC, take what I posted and tweak if your wallet allows.  Cases are subjective as well, so that is a placeholder.  Otherwise I would get what I posted, if were buying today.

If MC, get the 9700X bundle.  Or the 7600X3D bundle.  The 7600X3D is roughly the same for gaming, and you can say you have an exclusive chip that most other chumps... I mean wonderful people on this forum don't have 🙂 (yes, I view MC people as better than everyone else in the world #MicrocenterElte4Life)

It's a toss up, really.  If you get fully into MMORPG's, look hard at the 7600X3D.  The 7800X3D is priced too high atm.

Are there any differences between performance and physical conditions between the two? Would you also be able to provide a link to both bundles?

Do the bundles also include all the required parts to the PC? Or will I need to purchase any other parts excluding the monitor, keyboard/mouse, and the PC case?

Note:  The 9700X is arguably a better CPU than the 7600X3D for more than gaming.

Okay, thank you! Is there any chance anything on the list will be a bit cheaper closer to Black Friday? Just curious ^^

Also, is there any bundle worth getting more than the other given what I want to achieve? The games I currently have right now probably don’t require much to run, and I probably won’t invest much time and money into bigger games such as MMORPGS for a while since I’ll still be busy with my studies.

You can go all the way down to the 7600X bundle, and couple it with a 6750XT for a very solid 1080p machine, that can do 1440p for most titles.

Basically I was going by your budget and trying to give you 5-6+ years of gaming on the machine at really great frame rates before you have to start reducing things a lot.

I mean this is the lowest I would go to have a 1080p machine that will play anything out now very well.  When you have a decent GPU and are only at 1080p.... you've got a lot of room to max settings or last years.

This will play CyberPunk, Enshrouded, Ark Survival Ascended, and even STALKER 2 very well.

Though if you want to look at a 5700X3D for $100 more, then I'd grab the 7600X bundle from MC so you're in current gen stuff, not last gen.  It's a balancing act, when you increase one thing you may be into the next tier a little.

Like buying a car.  Do I get a fully loaded Civic or a decent Accord for the same money?

That makes a lot of sense. I’ll probably go with the bundle and the list in your previous then. Thank you so much!
