Budget (including currency): Trying to stay under $500

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: General Gaming (Waiting for the new Doom game to come out next year), 3D Printing, 3D Design

Other details: My current build is a Motherboard - Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite / CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3rd Gen - RYZEN 7 3700X Matisse (Zen 2) 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.4 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 / Graphics Card - Gigabyte RTX 3060 12GB gddr6 / Ram - G.Skill Ripjaws V series 32 GB (4x8) DDR4 3200 / Power Supply Seasonic FOCUS GM-850, 850W 80+ Gold, Semi-Modular.

First, I am upgrading my computer to handle multiple 3D slicer (Bamabu) windows simultaneously. My current build seems to not be able to handle all the programs at once. I am aware I can close the programs I am not using to increase efficiency, but I would like my system to handle more.

I would like to upgrade my CPU to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - Ryzen 9 5000 Series Vermeer (Zen 3) 12-Core 3.7 GHz Socket AM4 and increase my RAM to 64GB of similar memory to what I have. Right now it is $360.98 USD

The picture attached is what I could be looking to upgrade for the M5 chipset

Would it be better to upgrade my unit to the new M5 boards and save to afford that? My only problem with this is that it will cost more and require more components to be replaced. Additionally, I sell at conventions from time to time, and having a better-performing computer would help a lot.

It's AM5, not just M5 🙂

Are you near a Microcenter at all? Their bundles are pretty fantastic.

HAHA, big oof on my part. M5, sorry 😅

I wish I was. That place is the best!! Are there bundle deals online as well?

No, unfortunately all their bundles are in-store only.

You can cut down to a 9700X and a much cheaper motherboard as well though, that will reduce your expenses significantly.  I know it's not a 9900x, but the 9700X is still a huge upgrade over the 3700x.
