I'm getting a weird and probably false message on startup that tells me my CPU is overheating.

I'm running a Ryzen 3600, MSI B450M-A PRO MAX and DeepCool AK620 Digital.

Both HWINFO and DeepCool's software says CPU temps are normal. My correct Chipset drivers are downloaded and BIOS is latest.

Any idea what could be causing this message to pop up?
Thanks~

It can be a defective sensor. The CPU has a lot of temp sensors and maybe the one that is throwing up the error is not the one that the software normally uses.

I'd check if the cooler is correctly installed to be sure and rule that the hardware is good.

What you can do to clear the error is check within the BIOS  (probably in the monitoring section) for CPU thermal sensor and set the alarm to "ignore". Your CPU will still be protected from overheating but hopefully, the BIOS will stay silent at startup.

Hope that helps !

I've noticed I have my second CPU fan plugged into a commander core so i don't think it's spinning until post and this could be the warning for 'overheating' simply because the fan isn't running yet. 🤣
