I would like to wear a Windows PC as part of my Halloween Costume. The idea is to use the Soundplant software to create a soundboard where each key on a keyboard plays different sounds/music. I can then rewire the keys to fit in different places inside my costume to trigger sounds. I know this is probably doable with something like a Pi, but I'm not wanting to get into that ecosystem when just using Soundplant is SO much easier. What I need then, is a Windows based PC that can run off of a battery bank. Is Latte Panda my best option or would something else be better? Would a Stick PC work? What are you guys opinions/ideas?

Adafruit has a cheap sound trigger board that doesn't need any kind of Pi or Arduino as a controller. Just WAVs triggered by button presses. All you'd have to add is a speaker and a USB battery for it to run from.

If you really want to go with that software, then a small Windows tablet or netbook would work. If you find one that can run off USB-C and hook it up to an external battery, it should run off that until it's depleted then switch to its built-in battery automatically.

Then you can use a small development board as your "keyboard controller", if you don't want to cannibalize a cheap USB game pad.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
