problems installing realtek audio drivers

Good evening

I wanted to tune a friends audio system (windows 11 PC with analog connection to speakers) when i noticed the realtek audio driver dont have a setting for the subwoofer crossover. I wanted to try the windows default driver witch didnt work with surround, so i wanted to install the driver again witch did nothing

I downloaded the driver from the Gigabytes website but it wouldnt install, my next step was installing the driver via the gigabyte control center with the same result.

I have made things a lot worse then they where, but i didnt expect the driver not installing...

The mainboard is a: Gigabyte B650 gaming X AX

Anything i can try?

How do you have a subwoofer connected? The motherboard only has a 3.5mm line out jack which produces stereo sound but doesn't produce a seperate subwoofer channel.

For a seperate sub out you will be looking for the orange (3) jack.

ask me about my homelab

Try downloading Realtek Audio Console. It can be found on the Microsoft Store app. That offers speaker configuration, sound effects and room correction.

Make sure you look up the correct revision for your motherboard. As an example "Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v1.1 or v1.2 or v1.4  The driver still might be there. Check Device Manager. There you can see what driver is installed and the exact version of it.
