I use i9 13900kf since beginning of last year. Sadly i don't have any 1700 socket user friend, but i will try to find.

I don't know what is "intel baseline profile" but in my bios :
xmp enabled.

Msi cpu boost enabled.

REsize-Bar Enabled

Secure boot enabled.

Cooler type : Watercooler (4096w or something funny like that)

And some undervolt settings in intel xtu if i remember ? (it might default i really dont remember)

I do have warranty from reseller , issue is warranty issually stupid and they just checks if it "posts" but will do my best.

Is there any program to pinpoint eleminate cpu ? like for ram there is memtest86 and for hdd - hdd sentinel for gpu furmark and and mats.

I think you've already done a good job pinpointing the cpu.

The best thing will be to test it somewhere else.

Isn't the reseller aware of the 13th and 14th gen voltage issue? It should be common knowledge by any pc reseller by now. If you have warranty you really should be able to get a new one. Explain the problem and inform them of the issues with Intel's cpu problems.

If you manage to get a replacement do not start using it yet.

Instead wait for Intel's release of the microcode update - it will be a bios update so check Msi support page for that.

Then update the bios and look for an Intel's baseline profile, or Intel's default specification or something like that.

Then you can use the replacement.

Hardware

i9 13900kf

z790-p wifi msi ddr5

artic 360 freezer 2

2x32 gb ddr5 kingston ram

1 tb kinston nvme (cant remember exact model)

1200w thermaltake psu.

PC started to bsod 2 weeks ago. It was rare but was happening.

Now its like every 5 to 10 seconds. Barely usable. Even if its not bsod it gives random errors for random things such as

while installing geforce experience "7zip : archive is damage try re-installing"

Windows office install failed - more than 20 times.

Valorant install went crazy - riot client gray screen - failed to install - not enough storage - direct x is missing etc.

its not windows fault. I tried with new ssd with new os as well. No dice.

I am somewhat aware of intel cpu (13th adn 14th gen) failing. Is this one of them ? How can i test my cpu ?I dont want to waste time by sending wrong part to warranty exchange.

I have a 12th gen i3. I swapped the cpu and it worked fine but i have a little concern maybe if its motherboard that it fails to i dont know... maybe not giving enough power ? ( i really dont think but still.....)

I dont have a second mobo to test with.

Anything helps - thanks.

how its goin mate ? hope my post helps. Maybe drop a like or follow ? >w<

no ? i guessed that 😄

You have ruled out the SSD since you tried with another.

You have ruled out Windows.

You tested with a 12th gen and it works good with it.

For how long have you used the i9 13900kf?

And during that time have you also used the motherboard default settings instead of Intel's baseline profile?

I'm afraid it could be a cpu degradation, and the damage to it is permanent. No bios update will repair it. The upcoming microcode update will (hopefully) prevent any new degradation cases to pop up.

To be completely sure you can test the i9 13900kf in another pc, borrow your friend's pc if you don't have a spare.

If you have warranty from the reseller, use it.

If not you can RMA it, contact Intel, but be prepared for some headache.... their RMA has some bad reputation.

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post. Please follow the instructions to the letter as Windows doesn't like you messing with files in this location.

If it's the current Intel issue, the dump files usually just look like memory.
