So on my pc ive been having some games cut out all audio for 1-5 seconds every 10-50 seconds. It mostly seems to do it with older titles like cnc, x-com. But it has happened with newer ones like armor core vi. Its game per game some are fine others not, no matter what settings i seem to change. Also when it cuts the audio it cuts all audio even that of background music/videos. If i select out the game it stops until i select it again. this has happened since day 1 of me building my pc and ive just not played those games

What ive found while toubleshooting/ have tryed to fix it.

  •  i put on headphones it seems to fix it (did with armorcore) but i hate using head phones.
  •  I tryed recording clips of it happening with obs but when i reply the clips its doesnt do it.
  •  Ive updated all my drivers and bio multiple times

Im playing the audio via my oled lg 48" c1. My pc has the fallowing specs

  • I712700k
  • Msi edge z690 wifi
  • rog strix 3070
  • 32gb (4x8gb) ddr4 3600
  • Running windows 11

It seems like some driver issue to me but can find it any ideas on how to fix this? so i can enjoy my games again.

Wow, this is nuts, never heard of anything like it.  If I were to take a poorly educated guess it would be that your drivers are not the problem, nor any software.  Do you have the audio running purely through your TV?  And when you plug in headphones they're to the TV?  *edit: hooking your headphones to the PC would yield the same result, in fact hook the headphones to the TV and see if the problem persists but doesn't with onboard audio, this will 100% confirm it's the TV.

If this is the case I'd say some sort of handshake with the hdmi is unhappy with certain games, almost a ghost in the machine, or some kind of codec issue with the audio being handed off to the TV's DAC.

If, and only if you are using TV audio I would recommend finding a separate solution for your audio that doesn't involve the TV.  Whether that's PC speakers or a USB DAC/amp solution, just get away from the potentially finicky HDMI handling of a TV.  The audio isn't good on TV's to begin with so this is an excuse to get some good speakers.

Here is a random suggestion of Active Speakers made purely of my knowledge of what would fit your situation and brand reputation.

Audio go Brrrrrr
