New build not working

Pc doesn’t turn on at all. No lights,fans or post codes.

tried reseating all cables. Didn’t help

tried removing and changing ram. Didn’t help

tryed shorting power instead of use of case button. Didn’t work

how do I find out if it’s the cpu, mono or psu.

the only thing is that the psu (Msi r850gl) makes a very quiet beep sound every 3s. so I think it’s the psu

Probably this, there should be a little sign (post code, error light, BSOD) of life it was anything else, if its just nothing the PSU is probably the culprit

Is there any point in trying to fix the psu myself or should I return it and get a new one

NEVER open a PSU. Even disconnected, it can kill you because it stores power in capacitors.
