Hi

I recently purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 9020 with the specs below. The intent is to use this as a home media server to run plex. I was able to boot windows and it would display. When I would try and boot into the BIOS I would press F2 and the screen would stay black until I would hit ESC key which would then restart the computer. I have tried to restart in UEFI... still no display, clear CMOS, clear NVRAM, swapping display port ports, etc. and still not able to resolve the issue. However now I am unable to boot to windows and I periodically get a 2 beep beep code.

Only things that I have not tried yet is another monitor.

I want to get into the BIOS so I can run truenas scale as my server OS.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions or ideas.

Thank you

Is the power LED flashing an error code? That might tell you more than just a couple beeps.

Try replacing the CMOS battery with a new one. (That machine's over a decade old, so it couldn't hurt even if that's not the problem, and CR2032s are cheap.)

Try reseating the RAM, and using only one DIMM at a time.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Probably won't hurt gettinga new CMOS batter.

I was able to get it to boot to windows, however it will not boot on all ram sticks even though all of them work individually.

Still not able to see the BIOS as it will not display to the monitor. I will try another monitor and connection type.

Thank you for the help.
