I fixed an old Inspiron 15 3000 that someone no longer wanted. It would not turn on so after a hard reset by turning it on with the battery removed I was able to get it to turn on. Later after messing with many bios and uefi checks I had to reset windows on the laptop because it was stuck in a restarting loop upon turning on. I am using it currently but noticing that the cpu usaged jumps to 3.44 at time and the memory usage is quite high sometimes up to 80% of 16 GBs. I'm only really using firefox on it and wondering if this just because the laptop is old or there is possibly any other issues with it that could be fixed? Or if there is a need to optimize firefox in order to stop the overheating.

first of all when you get an old laptop always first do the cleaning - repaste it and dust it off.

Then check for drive health. You can use hdsentinel to do that. You can post it here for us to tell the result.

Make sure all drivers are correct. Old laptops might have odd driver issues.

how its goin mate ? hope my post helps. Maybe drop a like or follow ? >w<
