trouble setting up minecraft server

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

ok so i was dumb and port forwarded on my router and i forgot to do it on my modem

when i try to connect to the minecraft server hosted on my computer from my computer i can connect but when i try with https://mcsrvstat.us/ it says that it is not online(error 110). i have enabled port forwarding, have a static ip address and have allowed the port through the firewall. i've been trying for the past 2 hours and i have no idea what to do

Can you lay out in a few steps what you've done to forward the port, including the port number and verifying that the IP is correct?

i have a tp link router so: Advanced > NAT Forwarding > Port Forwarding > Add > Service Name : Minecraft Server > Device IP Address : click on my computer > External Port : Individual Port : 25565 > Internal Port : 25565 > Protocol : All > Enable this entry : ticked > SAVE

Thank you. I have used, I believe, the same interface before - was it done via a phone app or in browser?

You may need to see about adding the server to the Windows firewall. Do you have any other antivirus or firewall products installed?

Can you test connecting to your server from another computer on the SAME network?

i can connect from my laptop using my local ip but not the public one, i have disabled nordvpn protection and it still doesnt work but i don't know what i should allow through the firewall other than the port and java

Does your ip happen to fall into one of these subnets?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserved_IP_addresses

Have you tried connecting from another device on the same network?

my public ip doesnt fall into one of these and i successfuly connected to the server using my laptop and the local ip but not the public one

If you mean locally with your public ip, make sure NAT Loopback/Hairpin NAT is enabled in your router.

It should just be port 25565 if your using the default port.

i have allowed port 25565 through my firewall and i do not have any option called NAT loopback or hairpin NAT
