This should be a pretty good system for gaming and workstation purposes. 13900K has a ton of cores so i'd recommend it for productivity. Gaming it's within a couple percent of the fastest chips so you'll be fine there too. Especially with DDR5-7200 which nobody recommends for some reason despite helping performance a ton for like $20 more (Edit: they're priced about the same actually).

The 13900k? Over a 7950x3d or a 7800x3d? And an AMD gpu for ai? What a world.

sarcasm over, amd is generally better in the ai department due to théir avx512 capabilities (and are better watt for watt… and performance per dollar…). They do, however, suck at ai on gpus. I think why_me’s is probably the better choice, but a 4080s is in the budget with a cheaper psu and no windows liscense( if that doesn’t fit a peerless assassin over an aio)

13900K will be faster than a 7800X3D in multithreaded, and a 7950X3D would have been more expensive than either.

Maybe 4070 Ti super would be better, thought 7900 XT was better but looking into it now I guess that's wrong. But im not sure you can fit a 4080 super into the budget.

Maybe not the 13900K its so hot its not even viable for most people. AMD high end with more cache would be better

Yeah sure but whats the use if it runs at 4.5 GHZ cause its throttling that badly, and AMD for AI and ML tasks isnt great, I speak from experience here

4080super + 7900x. 7800x3d if for more gaming. In budget with a worse monitor. Better gpu >cpu for gaming and ai.

Also… it’s gaming and workstation. 7950x3d is jack of all trades, master of none (still better than a master of one). It fits with a 4070 ti super

Just beacuse something is marketed for gaming doesn't mean that it doesn't have productivity applications, for example Nvidia GPUs. Same thing applies for the X3D chips. Get a more powerful GPU for AI.

A more powerful gpu. At 2000$. For ai. A 4090 costs 1900$. If you shank someone for it. Are you trolling?

also; x3d -> unstable. They’re feats of mankind, pillars to gaming, but they’re specific. They are gaming chips, since you have to murder the clock speeds. The only one that’s ok at both for the price range is 7950x3d (and it’s kinda bad at the price range, it’s just good enough at both to justify). You have to go one way over the other at a price range.

I was talking abt the 4070 ti super

The instability is non-existent after a BIOS update and choosing the right, approved RAM

It’s unstable at higher clocks due to the nature of x3d. That’s why they run at lower clocks, and are worse at productivity.

You know what? This set me off.

I met Anton kiriwas (think I misspelled his name). He’s a nasa engineer or whatever now, but when he was younger he worked on how to get the cache to not implode when smt (in like core 2 duo days)

he explained why x3d is a pain real simple (and I paraphrase):
What I did, but twice as hard, and twice as complex

x3d is a miracle. But it’s not perfect.
