Opinions? Similar price (+ or - 300) and form (mostly wireless) if you want to recommend an alternative. Prefered place of purchase is amazon.

OP is trying to find a ~$1000 home theater setup that gives him the same oomph as the $10,000 setup he was gifted.

I'm not quite sure why he thinks this $1400 9.2.4 kit is going to be magically great when $1000 is just barely enough for a great 2.1 setup, let alone a 5.1 setup.

Different rooms, nothing wrong with the current 5.1 just need a different setup for a different room

don't need the same anything, just your thoughts on the 9.2.4 setup

It's fine. Not remarkable. It does what it says it does. etc.

I don't have experience with the specific kit, but the same opinion is valid for all home theaters kits.

If this kit somehow hit way above its budget, then every audiophile site would be talking about it.

 

Nakamichi is a pretty classic brand name so I trust it's good quality.
