Hola,

I have currently owned a IT support/PC Repair business for 5 years now.

Looking at potentially doing phone screen/battery repairs also.

I know this can be done with minimal tools but here are tools out there to make the job easier, heatmats etc to heat the glue up to the correct temperature before removing the screen and so on.

Would you say it requires a large capital investment to get the tools required?

Nope. I used a hair blowdryer for glass removal for years before I had an temperature controlled hot air gun. The money making part is in actual board repair, replacing the screen, replacing battery are very low margin jobs since people can also do them with almost no tools.

I don't think it'll be that expensive. If you want to perform the best out of repairs, I'd recommend buying both a heating pad and a heatgun. You'll also need those picks/cards to pry them open, which are fairly inexpensive, even in bulk. The most expensive part to phone repairs are Apple OEM parts.

The prices of heating pads vary, but you might be down a maximum of €150, depending on where you look.

Don't tell me to upgrade. I would've done so if I could.

Cheers guys. Might look for a few faulty iphones/ipads/samsung phone etc and have a go.

Already got a heatgun for the PC repairs. Heating pad sounds good though, would it imagine it's more reliable on heading up the glue without overheating the device.

Again, I do have picks for the PC repairs 🙂
