CHKDSK Stuck

Hi. I have been using CHKDSK on my windows 8.1. Anyway it was stuck at 10% after about 3 hours I switched it off and attempted to login in to the computer. But it goes straight into DSKCHk and as before it is stuck at 10% and has been like that for 4 hours. What should I do now do I leave it over night? Thanks for any help.

i would let it run overnight, if it is still at 10% there must be something wrong with chkdsk in windows if you can login there is a command to validate all windows files its "sfc /scannow"
