Try running  "sudo ecrypts-add-passphrase --fnek"  before running ecryptfs-recover-private.

I booted Linux Mint from a live USB because my actual install is stuck on the green spinny wheel and now I have to recover my data to reinstall it. Unfortunately though, it is eCrypted and I cannot access it. I have linked a screenshot that shows I have ran “sudo ecryptfs-recover-privat .Private/“ and got my password right but now it’s Schleich me some error “directory not found”. I really need the data back and any help would be greatly appreciated 😉 Warm regards
