11 Pin USB header?

Go to solution Solved by somethingawsome,

According to this, I think you just shift the connection over so you dont use the two left most pins. The extra two pins are just ground apparently!

Hi Guys

I am rebuilding my old pc in a new case and i have discovered that i have an 11 pin USB 2.0 header.I have never seen one of these, could someone please help me out or tell me where I can get an adapter or something so I can plug a 9 pin into it?

Thanks!

Regards,

Ben Cooper,

wow 11 pin usb header is so rare a search this post is in the front page of Google results

I would suggest if this http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19380581.aspx is true and the additional 2 pins are for power then  you could bend them out the way and use the normal 9.  but it looks like a normal 9 pin header will still fit on top (with no pin bending).

bit fist i would make sure it is usb and that the you don't have a warrant or anything to worry about losing.  what is the board make/model.
