Laptop setup advice needed

Hi all,

can someone help me with my setup, I run it all from a Lenovo legion 5( bottom left of photo) and I have it set to not turn off when lid is closed whilst charging so I can use it as a desktop, however it shuts down automatically as it knows when to stop charging, what are peoples advice on this and how can I change my laptops placement to be able to turn it on and off? Thanks

My advice would be investing decent to good dock. You should be able to turn-off any "battery saver" features. As soon  as you are on battery, it will start using different power plan than while plugged in. Plus, you ca use modern laptop plugged in whole time. I've had my last 3 work laptops constantly on dock whole day. Only going to sleep if I'm away for more than 30 mins.
