Can't Run games

Go to solution Solved by Djw_,

Yeah I did all that, didn’t work so I just clean installed windows, annoying but it worked. It was something in my files that must have been corrupting the games.

I recently ran into a problem with running games such as Call Of Duty, Apex Legends, and The Finals. For COD I was able to get into the main menu, but when I try to go into a game I get an error and my game crashes. For Apex Legends I am not even able to run it, and the same with The Finals. I tested to see if I could run a smaller game such as Among Us and it worked, I also tried running Fortnite and it worked as well. I am able to run everything else normally except for games. I ran a sfc and nothing came up, as well as a Window's Memory Diagnostic. I also went into the windows debug menu and got an error due to access violation, I've updated drivers, windows, and bios is up to date since it is an almost brand new computer.

Specs:

MotherBoard: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus elix ax ATX LGA1700

CPU: Intel 19-14900k

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR5 CL36

GPU: PNY XLR8 4090

PSU: Super Flower Leadex Titanium 1600 80+

SSD's: 970 EVO Plus 1tb, 990 Pro 1tb

Here are the errors I was receiving.

A quick google search came up with this for CoD

  • Run Call of Duty Vanguard as an administrator on your PC (right-click the .exe file and choose it under Properties).
  • Delete the Battle.net cache (type %ProgramData% into your Windows+R search bar and delete the Blizzard Entertainment Folder that appears)
  • Turn off the Xbox Game Bar or any other overlay you might have running.

Current setup:

I7 6700

64gb 3200mhz DDR4 (4stick combi)

200w generic HP power supply

HP elitedesk 800 G2 case

HP proprietary Mobo.

When I go into the game files to run cod as administrator it says game running on battle.net but doesn't open at all. Also it's with all the games so I believe it is something to do with my computer.

Have you tried updating your GPU drivers recently? This could be the cause of the crashes on the games.

Didn't work

Only other things I can think of for you to try is:

1. Check in NVIDIA software that your 4090 GPU is set to the primary (possible that your Intel CPU is using Integrated Graphics)

https://www.nvidia.com/content/Control-Panel-Help/vLatest/en-us/mergedProjects/nv3d/Setting_the_Preferred_Graphics_Processor.htm#:~:text=If the OS does not,Settings > Preferred graphics processor setting

2. Fresh install of windows to test if your OS is corrupted (preferably on a alternate drive if you do have)

3. Going into Device Manager > Display Adapters to check if your 4090 is enabled
