I have the Strix X470-F and recently stumbled upon the Fan Control software from Rem0o which seems highly reccomended.

Can anyone using this can help out or point me to a guide on the correct system configuration outside the Fan Control app itself? For example a guide on what to set in the BIOS.

It successfully detects all my PWM fans but there is a problem... it appears to be struggling to apply the intended speeds. If I set a fan to manual control and 100%, it will step up 8% every ~5 seconds instead of every 1 second.

I do not have any other software in Windows that controls fan speed. I have already set all fans to run at a flat 40% in the BIOS so that the firmware will not try to override the fan speeds when CPU temperature changes.

I'd advise against using 3rd party software to control your fans. Do as much as you can in your BIOS. Or is there any specific feature your BIOS doesn't support?

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

1. Fan speed hysteresis

2. Controlled ramping up of fan speed

3. Tying the VRM fan of my Liquid Freezer 3 to VRM temps instead of CPU temp

I want them so the fans won't have unnecessary reaction to momentary temp spikes, and won't jump in speed too quickly. Both of which are very audible and annoy me. Case I am using (Lancool 216) has special 160mm front fans for which I could not find suitable replacement that is quieter. Case is right next to the monitor. Changing the case or its location is not an option.

Its not the sound of sustained high fan speeds. Its the sound of the rapid ramping of speed when say, I open a regular application or unzip a file (short spike of load) or toggling between the menu and gameplay within a game (low load in menu but high load when resuming gameplay)

For now I have stopped using FC as I could not find any guide or user feedback to fix the issue I am facing.

Not gonna be using other fan control software because I only want to run a specialized but no-frills no-bloat application to do this. I got not RGB that needs controlling either.
