Help with GPU for first build

Budget (including currency): 700USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: most FPS games and possible streaming in the future

Other details

Current parts:

Case: NZXT H9 flow

CPU: i9-12900KF

AIO: msi mag coreliquid 360r

MOBO: msi pro z790-a ddr5

Ram: Corsair vengeance 64gb 6000

PSU: Msi MPG A850G

Storage: crucible p3 plus 2tb

Operating system: Windows 10

Currently building my first pc, i was wondering about opinions on 3060 vs 4060. Main goal would be decent frame rates at 1080 and maybe 1440 in the future. I'm Open to different opinions on other GPUs that might be a better option as well.

With budget of 700USD I would look at 4070 Ti's or 7900 XT's.
They are in the upper part of the budget however and 4070 Supers and 7800 XT's are also nice GPUs at a lower price.

3060 and 4060 are both a bit meh if you want 1440p high refreshrate gaming.

A 3060 or 4060 would be underpowered (and lacking in vram, for the 4060), compared to the rest of the PC and your intention for 1440p in the future.

I'd get a 4070 Super or 7800 XT, which are within your budget of $700.

The 4070 Ti or 7900 XT are within reach too, but depends how much of the budget you want to spend.

Thank you for the info. Is there any benefit to the 3x (3 fans) in comparison to the 2x (2 fans). The prices are a little more for the 3x which I understand. Just not sure if it has any legitimate benefits to it.

3 fans can spin slower and deliver the same amount of air as 2 fans for a given temp.  So a little  bit of noise and temp, but frankly with the game volume on I’ve never cared much.  I believe the cheapest 7900xt has 3 anyway.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.
