COD MW3 60 fps cap

I have a 5800x3d and recently upgraded to a 7900xtx from a 3070. I am playing at 1440p balanced preset and it is locked at 60 fps. The frame rate is set to unlimited and vsync is off. When I turn of Vsync it gives me a higher frame rate any ideas?

Turning off Vsync gives you a higher framerate? This is correct.   Vsync ( Vertical Syncronisation ) limits the framerate to your monitors refreshrate.

sorry I did not word it well when vsync is enabled I get a higher fram rate around 144 of my monitor but with it disabled it is a locked 60.

What is your monitors refreshrate?

Well.  I dont know how that particular game works but Vsync will limit the FPS to the monitors refreshrate..

So turning it ON will make it hit 144fps on a 144hz monitor ( but never more )

But turning it Off somehow limits the FPS in the game to 60. This is strange.
