Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is the right section to ask but...

I'm going to change the thermal paste of my laptop and I was looking up online and everyone is saying to use isopropyl alcohol but I don't have it with me.

Is there any substitute for it?

Thanks in advance 🤗

Isopropyl alcohol is used to clean up the residue of the thermal paste without shorting out your motherboard (hopefully)

Some alternatives you can use is either kitchen roll paper (it's more durable than tissue paper that is easily break down and leave tissue residue) or distilled / unionized water

Unless there's distilled water bottle company near where you live or you have distillation tools, the only probably thing you can use is kitchen roll paper. This method will most likely leave grey haze after cleaning up the thermal paste, but it should pose no problem
