Black Screen When Loading Windows 10

Recently benchmarked a 1660 in my computer, installed all the drivers. After taking it out, everything loads as normal but when windows is loading, my monitor enters rest mode. My computer, keyboard and mouse are still active. Unsure on what to do?

What CPU do you have? Does it have an iGPU so you can boot back into Windows and have a look through the event log?

 

If it doesn't, do you have or can quickly borrow another GPU?

 

Once back to a usable desktop, open Event Viewer and navigate to Windows Logs > System. Keep scrolling down the list and look for anything that might point to a possible cause.

 

I'm willing to bet you'll find a litany of amber errors all reporting nvlddmkm has stopped working....

 

Unfortunately, this is your display driver crashing.

 

If you've already tried DDUing your display drivers and reinstalling them, then my next port of call would be a fresh install of Windows as this pretty much rules out a software issue.

 

If the problem persists, then its likely a hardware problem, maybe a dead GPU....

I'm not using a GPU at the moment. I have an a10-7890k and it has an igpu so what now?

Yes but when I use my old HDD and old GPU, instead of the screen going black it says:

 

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

 

After clicking "OK" my computer restarts, then shows the same error???

 

Edit: Now the same thing is happening with my SSD???
