Hello everyone,

In my home office setup, I have a desktop, a work MacBook, and two monitors. Typically, when I'm not working, I utilize both monitors with my desktop using DisplayPort cables. However, when I switch to work mode, I manually adjust Windows settings to display only on the second monitor. Then, I connect an HDMI cable from the first monitor to the MacBook. This process is becoming a bit cumbersome, and I'm exploring the possibility of using a KVM-style device or something similar to a Steam Deck. My goal is to set up different configurations for work, gaming, etc., and have the device seamlessly switch monitor inputs accordingly.

I use Logitech Mechanical Mini and Master 3S, so switching peripherals is not an issue with Logi+. However, my main concern lies with the monitors.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

I guess I have become a bit of an expert with KVMs lately. lol

I have a similar setup in my work office. Two Windows PCs and two monitors. My main work PC uses two video outputs; one goes directly to one monitor and the other goes to the KVM switch. The other PC only ever needs one monitor so its output goes to the KVM switch. The KVM is connected to only one of the monitors. I also use the KVM switch to change the mouse and keyboard so didn't need Logi+. When I am using my main work PC (PC1) , both monitors work with it. When I use the secondary PC (PC2) only one monitor is used.

The KVM I am using for this is the StarTech SV231DPU2 2-Port DisplayPort KVM Switch since both PCs have displayport on them.
