Unable to map Network drives

I have a Home server running windows server 2003, everything is configured right, because im able to access the mapped network drives from 2 different windows 8 machines, on wireless and through cable. I was also able to connect when my gaming pc was running windows 7 and also wirelessly from a different windows xp laptop. but theres one windows xp laptop that just wont connect. Ive tried directly to the server though a network cable wirelesss ly and the set up that it should be on to no luck.

Make sure they're on the same network (ping them).

I'm not sure i haven't looked into it but it may be a windows 8 incompatibility check microsoft's website for for information about server 2003 - win 8 networking.

Does the laptop have the WMI service running?
