Swapping PSU - Cable Question

TrophyPete

I just pulled the trigger on a new GPU and the sufficient power supply to go along with it.  I'm moving from a Seasonic Focus GX-650 (from approx 2020) to a Seasonic Focus GX-850 (ATX 3.0 / PCIE 5 compatible).  Everywhere I've read on the Seasonic website and the salesperson at Micro Center said I should be fine to simply swap out the actual units and continue with the same cables that are already in place in my case since they're the same brand/model of PSU.  That all seems logical to me, and is the main reason why I went with the same brand for the new one - but I wanted to make sure one last time before I hooked this thing up to my new GPU!  Anyone on here have any experience doing the same thing, or maybe a bit more insight than I do?
