GPU not seated properly

So… my dad gave me a hand and we literally just drilled them out and I didn’t see your comment - so there’s a small amount of shrapnel in my PC. Works fine now, we just removed the bracket’s support so that it would bend enough to get my GPU in. How bad will shrapnel be? I got the big chunks out and nothing fell on the main components, at least no visible bits.

Yeah so make sure it's ALL removed with like a vacuum or something. That shrapnel can create as SUPER EASY short which tends to kill stuff.

Hi there, and merry Christmas!

So my new GPU fits in my case fine, and it boots properly and provides a display, but under load it shuts down. In my case, there’s a cable management thing that sticks out from the back of the case. My new GPU is so long that it ends up hitting that bracket and pushing on it when seated. I ran Cinebench R24’s new GPU stress test and it restarted my PC as soon as I hit start. How would I go about removing this bracket? I can remove the whole larger piece that it’s connected to, which looks awful, or try to remove the thin bracket that’s pushing against my GPU. Sadly, they aren’t screws - I don’t even know what they are. Maybe someone has an idea of what I can do. Here’s a picture:

Rest of the system specs?

Also I'd try the system outside of the case (just on a cardboard box) to see if it's really a case issue

Else well other than another case or taking a dremel or such to this (take out the whole pc when doing this else you'll kill it with metal shrapnel) there is little to do

If it fell down the back of the PC, which 90% of it did, would it be such an issue? There isn’t anything apart from my PSU it could cause issues with, which would be fatal, but I seriously doubt any got in it.
