context: I'm planning to buy a steam deck but I have a few questions

 

1. I'm just wondering if I can still install an ssd and microsd card at the same time.

2. Wondering what is a steamdeck emmc comapred to a normal steamdeck

3. Does a microsd card affect my fps

1) yes

2) EMMC is just a bad SSD. Small and slow. Only the 64 GB Steam Deck has one.

3) Not directly, but large open-world games might try to stream too much data while travelling and slow down. For best results get a fast card.

Are you ballin' on a budget with the lowest model? Consider the fact that the short SSDs that the Steam Deck uses are usually 2x as much as normal M.2 SSDs, so it might be worth just buying anything but the 64GB base model.

 

I haven't played with the SD slot on mine, but its not like the ROG Ally where its a potential for the heatsink's exhaust to kill the microSD since its slot is far away from the exhaust.
