I like to listen to music or podcasts while gaming. So I have a set of speakers which I play chrome through and then a headset I use for my game. Recently, whenever I open Call of Duty, the quality of my speaker changes. It's more noticeable with podcasts and immediately sounds like the podcast is going through a voice changer meant to sound like a pilot's headset or walkie-talkie(i hope you know the sound filter I'm talking about). IDK what's going on. Please help

Is the sound setting in the game set to headset, cinema or TV etc?

I believe it is currently set to headset. I've tried changing it to no avail. However, why would that change the sound of a second sound source?

I am essentially using it for separate things. The speakers play Chrome, Spotify, system sounds, etc. and the headset is only for communication (discord/voicechat) and game audio.

When you run a game in the background and no audio is playing, do you still hear any distortion or sound coming from the speakers?

Trying to rule out any possible electromagnetic interference caused by the GPU.

Some third-party apps might be causing an automatic profile change when launching a game. A list of programs that you run in the background could help determine what's causing it.

Qoute my reply if you want me to answer back.

No it's only call of duty. Like I said, the whole sound profile change, as if there's a filter or voice changer on it.
