i looking to make a home server using proxmox to host multiple VM for services like truenas scale, portaniner, home assistant and a basic minecraft server for my kids. i was looking at older CPUS like xeon E5- V4 series chips but wanted to also look at Eypc chips as well. im not well versed with AMD chips. i would assume high core counts would matter to give each vm's enough CPU. I dont need the latest and greatest look for something that uses DDR4 RAM since i have an abundance of ECC memory.
