How to I get my foot in the door of xlr equipment?

As someone who isn't familiar with the ins and outs of xlr equipment if I were swap from my hyper x quadcast and audio technica bt2s where would I start? From getting it to making it work. Since I dont know what do or where I would start if I were to swap them for xlr ones.
