What is a good Nas or home and network storage for a running plex with 4K video streaming home and abroad

I will be running Max 2 streams at once but  often  one

Also will be using the naz to access files when I'm not at home on my mobile I like when I'm abroad

What is your upload speed and do you know if you need to transcode?

If you have an old computer, the performance might be best using that and adding a cheap nvidia Quadro card to do transcoding.

A wide bunch of hardware would be candidates for the best NAS for you.

  • The first consideration is the processor -- those from 7th gen Core or newer, or embedded portfolios starting from Celeron J4125, would be pretty decent for transcoding in Plex.
  • The second is about storage: the larger your hard drives are capable of, the more movies can be stored.
  • Others include the motherboard, the power supply (generally, <=350W), the case & the supervisor hosting Plex.

You can also learn more about NAS through other posts in this forum or Reddit, and figure out the best fitted build by your own. We are always here to help you make decisions more precisely.☺️
