Can't find VBIOS for Sapphire RX 590 GME SE

benbalag

I bought a mining card from china but after installing it and using it for about 2 weeks, drivers started acting up driver crashes or freezing. Been searching up for bios for the card and have found none yet anybody got the same card? please upload

Sapphire Radeon RX590 GME Silent Bios.romHere is my used Sapphire Radeon RX 590 GME Bios but its not perfect... for some reason i can't overclock Core and Mem speed and even if i do the clocks stay the same. However you can increase power limit or tweak your fan speed.

And for some reason the Power limit is low, its the reason it drops mhz at 100% use

But other than those i didn't see any driver issue

I Found a video how to force Bios from RX 580, but you have to make sure that the Bios has the same Memory as your gpu.

However i haven't tried it to flash RX 580 bios with Samsung FC memory to my RX 590 GME Samsung FC..., maybe in the future

Flashing this way from what i understand will change your RX 590 GME Sub ID to RX 580, most RX 580s have Samsung FB and Hynix Memory, there are 2-3 with Samsung FC on techpowerup.

Like this one however this is RX590... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/217659/sapphire-rx590-8192-190609

This Clock speed is to much for RX 580 to handle, so be carefull if you take this route.

Best would be to Find Decent RX 580 Bios with Samsung FC memory instead

My used RX590 GME  bios has Samsung k4G80325FC and Hynix

Anyway if anyone has Official Sapphire RX590 GME 8GB Bios for Samsung K4G80325FC i would want it to 😛

Mostly for more Power Limit, would be nice if the GPU could hold 1380MHz at 100% aswell

Other than that Download 23.11.1 Drivers and if you still have issues try to Reinstall Windows.

But the GPU Hardware could be faulty aswell, those GME GPUs are theoretically NETCAFE GPUs and i bet they sold it for Mining when those costed 500+ bucks... in other words it could easily been used by many users before you got it in your hands.

i found those 2 aswell but they are not Sapphire:

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/215840/xfx-rx580-8192-190820

this one has Core clock 1366 MHz and Memory Samsung K4G80325FC: 2000 MHz: 17-17-31-31-87-24-219

and this one has Core clock 1100 MHz Samsung K4G80325FC: 2120 MHz: 14-14-26-26-76-24-190(Mining)

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/220207/xfx-rx580-8192-190820-1

i think those XFX had 1 Bios for Gaming and 1 for Mining

but not sure if it's safe to flash XFX GPU Bios to Sapphire GPU.

Theoretically they have different Fans, Power stage, Power Limits

Both of those say 145W +50% that makes = 217.5W slightly above my Bios

GPU-Z says that my gpu has 160W +30% = 208W

so what +9.5W D

But im not sure if my GPU Bios actually draws 208W

For example when i run Cinebench R15 which is CPU Stress test i see 300W and when i run GPU Stresstest aswell i see only 450W, so if we do 300-450 = 150W only

But my GPU reports on HWINFO64 207W and on AMD Software 188W

anyway... strange things

Performance Bios: Sapphire Radeon RX590 GME Performance Bios.rom

Silent Bios            : Sapphire Radeon RX590 GME Silent Bios.rom

Those bios are from my used RX590GME, however i had one issue that others doesn't seem to have.

I Can't tweak/tune Clock and Memory just by enabling it from AMD Software the GPU Crashes.

You can tweak only Fan speed and Power Limit.

Other than those i didn't had any issue with 23.11.1 drivers or games so far

Well I never found a matching bios for the card but after a reset on my OS the card fixed itself (might actually just be a driver issue) although, I don't have a performance mode and stuck with silent mode my performance is stable on 1477Mhz and 2250 Mhz 140W +30 but is only using 147W max shown in Furmark. I dont really know how to use other benchmarking apps or stress testing apps so this is all I could provide.

The GPU has dual bios switch

image.jpeg.29cdc7a3c89db3fc131feef685c6e2d1.jpeg

on GPU-Z it says that Performance has 170W +30% = 221W and Silent 160W +30% = 208W

in my case when i switch to Performance the GPU holds higher clocks at 100% load, however the watt reading on HWINFO64 is wrong and on AMD Software the watt reading is wrong.

so in Performance Mode the Wattage report is Lower than it Draws and on Silent the Wattage report is Higher...

Before switching to other BIOS, first save your own GPU bios with GPU-Z

image.gif.94ee26c9b3844e08ad6246ac7adc0cfd.gif

Switch to Silent Bios and Save that bios name it Silent and then Switch to Performance and Save it.

Put both on a folder for backup just in case

and if you can send them here aswell for me to try

You can't flash the Silent Bios to Performance bios and Performance to Silent, for some reason.

Silent to Silent and Performance to Performance

Maybe with the method the video above shows it would be possible, but there is no reason to switch them.

anyway

The Watts doesn't make sense D

Performance has 170W +30% = 221W

Silent 160W +30% = 208W

Because on Silent with the theoretical 208W i can't even hold 1000MHz on Furmark

On the other hand with Performance 170W with +20% for 204W i can hold 1380MHz+...

Makes no sense... those power limits are false

not that it matters, but they are bs

Um yeah about that... what I meant is I when I switch to performance mode there's no output display so I can't really use it for some reason.

Here's my bios btw. The switch is on the left side facing the Sapphire LED logo

you can switch the gpu bios to silent boot with it, and then switch to performance bios to flash a bios to it for example my gpu performance bios

even tho i don't have any issues with my performance bios, except that i can't tweak it from amd software

i can't guarantee that it's the official bios and not modded since its from used gpu

I'm using the same graphics card, may I see your undervolt setting?

i haven't decided yet, but at 1400MHz 1.130mv is 100% stable. im trying 1.120mv now

if your temps are fine put Power Tuning +30%

What you want to do to make it perfect is to find the finals state first lets say you are 1400MHz 1.120mv 100% stable.

Then you can work on the other state 1300MHz and lower the voltage lets say 1.110mv to see if its stable 100%.

Then on the 1257MHz lets say 1.100mv etc

btw you can click on the state you want to test and set it to max for testing

the problem with my gpu is memory, i can't touch it... even at 2000mhz if i put timing level 2 i could crash.

from what i understand the timings are like this kinda:

automatic = stock

LEVEL 1 = tight

LEVEL 2 = tighter

leave memory overclocking for last i would say it's the worst to deal with.

in my case even at automatic i can't go over 2050mhz without erroring in hwinfo64.

and from what i tried:

Timings automatic + 2050MHz had worse score than Level 2 timing at 2000MHz.

but when i put level 2 timing there is 50% chance my drivers will crash at 2000mhz memory speed.

anyway i have those for now

Loud fan curve its temporary until i decide

________________________________________________

as for Power Limit, if your temps are fine set it to +30%. if they are not then leave it at +0% and try to undervolt all states

image.png.d24055d63bfd10ad248f46c97ffe6082.png

but best Overclock is the one that can survive summer.

just wanna add that with 2000MHz and Timing Level 2, even tho i didn't face any error from hwinfo or see stability issues on games. for some reason windows sometimes was stuck at black screen on boot.

without timing level 2 i don't see this issue anymore.

and for fans

image.png.09699a52db82ef463ad379de35a6c64a.png

you can decrease the 50temp fan speed to 70% it will be little smoother

once you are 100% sure you are stable try increasing memory to 2200mhz without touching Timings.

for me Level 1 and Level 2 timings are not stable even at 2000mhz, but with 2200mhz on automatic im stable without any error
