Rx6800 bottleneck

I have a rx6800 and a 5800x 

 

however my gpu is only running at 80% usage in all games. Can anyone help?

Define "all games"? What games have you played?

I have tried in Fortnite and spider man remastered all on high settings. (I am new to pc gaming)

At what resolution? What clockspeed and temp was the card while in game? What framerate? VSync? Framerate limiters either in game or with third party tools?

 

There are many variables here.

1440p capped at 165hz but was only gettting 130hz vsync is on and the temp was 54 Celsius. Clock speed is 2356

There are many variables here. 

No framrate limit

Turn it off and play more games for a larger sample size. GPU demanding titles, too.

I have tried v sync off and it made no difference also I have seen videos and friends with the exact same setup and they do not have this issue

Do those friends also run the same settings, the same monitor, resolution etc.?

 

If you think you are CPU limited, check the CPU utilization. If that is the limiting factor it should be around 100% or at least quite high (never know if all cores are being hit).

Also double check that you have frame limits and vsync really off.

 

And test more games or synthetic benchmarks to see whether your results differ from most reported ones.
