Mac OS installation error

So I keep getting this error when trying to install MacBook os sierra “An error occurred while preparing the installation try running this application” I need to reinstall the os because it was reseted for work because we didn’t know the old user password but whenever I try to reinstall the os it just comes up with that error when the installation is done and the estimated time turns into I think it was -966 seconds or something like that some solutions I tried was setting the correct date and checking if the status of the hard drive was good before I couldn’t even access the installation so I had to change the date and I guess im on the final boss if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Try intentionally setting the wrong date, like November 10, 2016. Older Mac OS installers get tripped up now that their security certificates expired.

The installer doesn’t want to install on the wrong date
