Building a NAS

any older and cheap desktop suggestions that I can convert into a NAS system? I want to fit 4+ drives and preferably a small sized system

Running off the shelf prebuilt equipped system with Intel 7th gen core i3 is more than enough for most people, especially those Intel HD GPU already supported 10Bit high res video transcoding for Jellyfin/Plex/Emby stream on the fly, without resorting to buying GPU and save power.

I want to use this for mainly basic storage and maybe streaming video files in the future 

And for the size, something small enough to put under a desk or a closet
