Hey there, I want to upgrade my computers performance in games overall and hope there is someone to help my out.

My current machine:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8x 4.3GHz
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB
  • RAM: 1x 16 GB DDR4
  • Mainboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus, AMD B450
  • Power Supply: be quiet! System Power B9 450 Watt (80+)

My setup includes 3 monitors (2x 1080p, 1x 1440p), I play a wide range of Games from Rocket League over LS22, Cities Skylines (II), ARK and LoL to CoD and Destiny 2.

In my (not very professional) opinion, the Graphics Card is the best option to replace in order to increase performance since its runnig at 100% usage basically all the time. I just dont have any idea which GPU could fit on my mainboard or power supply or if i would have to upgrade more than just the GPU in order to increase my fps.

I want to thank anyone in advance for their time spent to help me. ❤️

Budget ?

Any GPU from less than 20 years will fit on your board, but some big ones may not fit in your unspecified case 😛

And you should also first thing add a second stick of RAM, or just buy a new 3200CL16 kit as it's super cheap now, this will really  help your CPU

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

My budget goes up to 350€ (371.82$ US) but I'd rather stick closer to 300€ (318.70 $ US).

Sorry for not specifying the case. According to information from the internet the maximum gpu length is 371mm.

As for the RAM, picking up a second 16GB stick of my currently in use G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 CL16 seems more cost efficient to me.

Ok

3000MHz RAM isn' great but indeed cheaper to buy only 1 stick

Then for the GPU get a 6650XT or a 7600 it's around $250

Both are around x2.5 faster than a RX570 !!

My first suggestion would actually be to upgrade the RAM. You'd likely be surprised how much of a difference running in dual-channel will make. After that, yes, the GPU is probably the next option. I'm not too familiar with the AMD GPUs, but performance-wise, you're probably looking for something equivalent to the GeForce RTX 3090 (although with Nvidia cards it's important to look at specific usage as they all handle different types of rendering differently. They each handle RTX better with each generation, but actual rendering is all over the place).

Anyway I'm hardly an expert myself, but I hope this is helpful.
